The end of 2013

The Beevers headed to Texas to spend time with Nanna, Poppi, Auntie Mindy and Uncle Rob.  This was Kaylen's first trip to Texas.  We celebrated Christmas one last time in the house that Mindy and I grew up in.  My Mom and Dad are moving to California in 2014.  We had a great time, shared lots of old memories and made new ones.  Kaylen LOVED the doggies, Pouchai and Yoshi.  She wore them out most days.

We also took Kaylen to her first movie!  We saw Frozen.  She loved it.  We loved it.  Great experience to share with my Mom and Mindy.

Mindy and Rob bought Kaylen this Frozen hat as a souvenir from her first movie.  Too cute!

Here is a pretty pic that Mindy took of Kaylen sleeping...

A couple of family photos

Here is Kaylen with Santa...

Kaylen actually celebrated Christmas three times this year!  Lucky girl.  Next, we had our celebration with Auntie Barb, Tiffany, Tony, Taylor, Brandon, Cyndi and Sharee.  The fun gift this year was a remote controlled flying dude (I don't know what else to call it!)  Kaylen was fascinated and a little scared of this thing but she loved it.  Lots of laughs.

And for Christmas Day, it was just the three of us.  Kaylen had fun opening a couple of presents and playing dress up with her new stuff.  She also got a tricycle from Santa.

Then we decided to head to Disneyland on Christmas Day and renew our passes.  Usually we on Christmas Eve day but I was busy helping my friend Davina who got induced and had her second baby boy Toby.  I was honored to be there for her and her husband Ryan.

Here is Toby at home in his Christmas attire

Oct & Nov 2013

Hey everyone!  I have a lot of catching up to do!  I have some pics from Halloween and Beever's birthday for ya.  We did go to Disneyland because I love the decorations for Halloween there.

On Halloween we took Daddy to lunch at Schooner or Later....of course he had a schooner of beer!

That night we went to our friends house to trick or treat with the kids.  They had a blast.  This year Kaylen really got into going up to the houses and saying "trick or treat!"   She was a butterfly fairy this year.

Janet even made a pound cake so we could sing Happy Birthday to Mike.  Kaylen helped blow out the candle.

Mike and I celebrated his birthday at Mastro's Ocean Club.  It was one delicious dinner!  Doesn't he look happy?

Here is a cute pic of Kaylen at the Aquarium "riding" the penguin.  We actually had a fun visit with the Wolters and the Pedigos that day.

Random pic but I love this pic of cousin Sharee and Kaylen.

That takes care of October.  Moving on to November.  My friend Courtney had her second daughter Bryn on 11-12-13.  I had the pleasure of taking care of her in the hospital.   Such an honor!

We surprised Janet for her birthday at PF Changs.  Great night with great friends.

 Such pretty girls!

Mike and I enjoyed the Stanford vs USC game this year because USC kicked butt.  Here is a pic of the fans rushing the field after the game.  This NEVER happens!

Here is Kaylen's first hand turkey that she made at daycare.  It's still hanging on the fridge.  I'm such a proud Mommy!

Well I am one lucky girl.  I got to see Justin Timberlake in concert at the Honda Center in Anaheim.  I took my friend Tiffany Clary with me.  It was such a great concert.

Here is a pic of Kaylen playing the piano at Marco & Stephanie's house.  This girl loves music!

Hawaii again!

I know, Hawaii again!  Don't hate us!  We love our new timeshare!  We are trying to get our traveling in now before our new baby BOY arrives in April 2014!!!!!   We are very excited!  We actually found out that our baby is a boy on our last day in Hawaii.  We had fun celebrating.  Both Mike and I were prepared for another girl so we were a little shocked when they told us it was a boy!  This boy will complete our little family.

My sister Mindy got to enjoy our Hawaii vacation too.  This was her first visit to Hawaii.  We went to the island of Oahu which has a lot of tourists and tall buildings.  I don't think Mindy was too excited at first, but we toured the island and found great beaches.

Here is the view from our room complete with a rainbow...

Our resort was actually on the beach, but it also had a nice little lagoon where people were paddleboarding etc...

It only rained on us the first day when we were enjoying our resort's pool.  We didn't get much sun, but Kaylen enjoyed the waterslide.  Daddy took her over and over and over again.

Now this vacation was about the sun and sand but also the food.  Oahu has many great restaurants.  We went to Duke's right on the beach in Waikiki.  We saw an awesome sunset and had a nice walk on the soft sand.

Here are a couple of great pics of us with our leis...

We took an adventure around the island.  First we found a nice beach.

Mindy snapped these pics of Kaylen and someone's dog who was having a blast in the water.

Then we stopped for some famous Matsumoto shaved ice.  Kaylen of course loved it!  Another cool pic taken by Auntie Mindy.

We also stopped at the Dole Plantation and picked up a pineapple.

Just a pretty picture with my favorite flower...

Since we had Auntie Mindy with us, we took full advantage and had a couple of date nights.  The first one we went to Alan Wong's.  Mike had been here once 8 years ago and has been talking about it ever since.  It was one absolutely amazing meal!  We got lucky and had a 5 course meal complete with their amazing coconut sorbet covered in dark chocolate!  Here's some pics...because its worth remembering.

The first 2 apps were this tuna and avocado yumminess and then a kalua pig grilled cheese and tomato soup.

The next course was lobster but I forgot to take a pic.  Then came this yummy fish!  The sauce was amazing!

Next was this short rib that just melted in your mouth!  Oh and some shrimp.

And last but certainly not least... the coconut sorbet wrapped in dark chocolate and coconut with fruit.

Ok no more pics of food.  But I just had to share!

We decided to take another drive and find a different beach.  Along the way were lots of places to stop and take pics.

This one is Eternity Beach where they filmed the movie From Here to Eternity.

More beach pics...

We also went to Morimoto's restaurant and had a delicious sushi dinner.  We enjoyed the amazing view too.

Our other date night was at Sansabune Sushi.  When you sit at the bar, its omakase only,  meaning the chef will bring you what's on the menu that night.  They also don't give you soy sauce or wasabi.  This is how sushi is supposed to be!  It was like 13 different courses consisting of different types of fish.   It was so yummy.  We enjoyed ourselves for sure.

Here's a fun beach pic of Kaylen.  She really loved playing in the surf and letting it knock her over.

Here's a couple of pics from our photo shoot with Mindy.  You will see more later.

Here is Mindy's one souvenir from this vacation....she is stylin'!!!

And one more pic....a double rainbow!

We had a fabulous vacation with lots of great memories.   We enjoyed having Mindy with us.  Kaylen loved her Auntie Mindy time.  They had lots of fun.
