A trip to Orlando and Mother's Day

Remember when we went to the LaCosta resort last year in May?  Well, this year we tagged along on Mike's work trip to Orlando.  We stayed at the Grand Floridian Hotel which is right across the water from the Magic Kingdom.  We arrived on Sunday and decided to keep Kaylen on California time for the trip.  It ended up working out well for everyone.  Monday we just had a nice pool day and just relaxed.  And had some Mickey Mouse pancakes...

Mike had business meetings on Tues and Wed morning and played golf on Tuesday afternoon.  Kaylen and I went to Epcot on Tuesday.  Before heading over, we attended the tea luncheon sponsored by Genie for the spouses.  We had some tea and sandwiches and visited with the other ladies.  We also got a $50 giftcard to use at Disney.  Then we took the monorail over to the park.  We went on the Finding Nemo ride, which Kaylen really likes the movie right now, so she enjoyed that.  We checked out the 3D Captain EO show with Michael Jackson ( I remember seeing this show at Disneyland when we visited as a kid.)  Kaylen really liked it.  She did really well riding in the stroller as long as she got to get out every once in a while.  She doesn't really get the concept of waiting in line so she was impatient sometimes.  Luckily we didn't have to wait very long for any one ride.

That night we headed back to Epcot for the Genie sponsored dinner at The Living Seas.  We had a nice dinner then walked over to "Italy" for dessert and watched their fireworks show called Illuminations.  Kaylen loved the show.

On Wednesday, Kaylen & I headed to the Magic Kingdom.  Mike decided not to play golf that afternoon so he joined us and brought lunch.  We rode a couple of rides then came back for a nap.  We then went back over for the evening.  Since we were still on Cali time, we stayed there till closing time.  We ended up riding a lot of rides while everyone was watching the fireworks.  It was a fun day.

Thursday we had Park Hopper tickets and we made it to 3 theme parks!  In the morning we went to the Animal Kingdom.  We saw Finding Nemo, the Musical.  It was a 40 minute Broadway type show and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!

We went back to the hotel for naptime and then headed to Epcot.  We had fun going through all the different countries.  I think someone liked Germany the best....

We ended our Park Hopper day at Magic Kingdom and had some ice cream.

On Friday we just had another pool day.  It was much hotter and more humid than when we arrived so the water felt great.

That night we had a nice dinner at one of the hotel's restaurants.  We got dressed up and took some nice pics.

I forgot that we went to Downtown Disney....here is a video of Kaylen dancing to some live music...its a little blurry but she is the one in the black pants.

The day after we returned from Orlando was Mother's Day.  My wonderful hubby planned ahead and had reservations at Duke's in Huntington Beach.  It was so yummy with coconut french toast and lots of yummy desserts.  Can you tell that Kaylen liked the chocolate?

March & April 2013

Hello everyone!  I have 3 months to catch up on!  Whew!  Let's get started.

Right after my last post, my Aunt Barb went into the hospital after falling and hitting her head.  Long story short, after 4 days in the hospital, she is fine.  We had to experiment with her blood pressure meds to get her feeling better again.  She had to stay with us for a while until her dizzy spells got better.  Now she is back at home and happy to be there.

My friend Courtney and I went to see Maroon 5 in concert at the Staples Center.   We had so much fun and it was a really fun concert.

Enjoy this next pic because everyone has seen this embarrassing photo in their childhood.  We would love for Kaylen to want to be potty trained but its just not happening yet.  We will wait....

Guess we will go through the random pics that I have.  But they are too cute to not put in the blog.

Here is Fin & Kaylen swinging on the tire.

This is a pic taken by Aunt Cyndi when we were out to lunch with Aunt Barb and Sharee.  Such a happy girl!

Love this pic of Daddy & Kaylen on our front lawn.

See that sweet angelic face?  Well she likes to color....anything.....including the walls.  Here is her worst damage so far.  Thank goodness that magic eraser worked.

Here is Kaylen and Kyla at the Long Beach Aquarium hanging with the penguins.

We celebrated Kyla's 2nd birthday also (her Mom is my friend Courtney).  It was a Finding Nemo theme, a big hit with Kaylen.

Nanna came to visit at the end of March...mostly to help Aunt Barb but we got to spend some time with her too.

Kaylen LOVES ice cream just like her Nanna!
